Solar installations set to quadruple in two years
Solar installations in India are set to double this year and double again next year. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the nation today has an installed solar capacity of 4,262 MW. The Ministry expects 4,345 MW of fresh capacity to come up in 2015-16, of which 518 MW has already been built in the current fiscal.

Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Centre will come up with some interest subvention scheme to give reprieve to the constant decline in exports.When asked if the Government is working on measures to address the decline, she said, “We are constantly working on it; we are conscious of the fact that exports have been on the slide for some months now. Lower risk weights to benefit home buyers in smaller cities
The Reserve Bank of India’s move to reduce the risk weights attached to some categories of home loans, may bring down interest rates on loans by another 25-30 basis points (bps) over the next few months, according a report by Crisil.The RBI had allowed a loan-to-value ratio (LTV) of up to 90 per cent for home loans of Rs. 30 lakh or less. Earlier, 90 per cent LTV was allowed only for loans up to Rs. 20 lakh.

National Housing Bank to cut refinance rates
The National Housing Bank (NHB) on Friday said its refinance rates will come down in step with the Reserve Bank of India’s recent move to cut repo rates and signal lower rates in the economy.“My rates are already competitive. Run away expenditure forces AP to resort to overdraft
Even as the State Government is going ahead with grand scale arrangements for the foundation ceremony of Amaravati on October 22, the State’s finances are just not matching up.With widening gap between revenue accruals and expenditure, the State which recently resorted to way and means advances from the Reserve Bank of India had to fall back on overdraft (OD) facility as its bank account showed negative balance on October 8. Ways and means advances is a mechanism used by RBI under its credit policy to help states banking with it to tide over temporary mismatches in the cash flow of their receipts and payments.

Government buildings to be green in Amaravati
All government constructions in Amaravati will be green buildings and energy efficient. The State government has confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State on October 22 for participating in the foundation laying ceremony for Amaravati.The Prime Minister’s programme schedule was released on Friday, and during the eight-hour trip to the State, he is likely to visit Tirumala and have darshan at the Lord Venkateswara temple, before heading back to New Delhi. AP to complete land acquisition for Nadikudi–Srikalahasti line
Andhra Pradesh has instructed the district collect of Guntur to commence work on land acquisition for the proposed new railway line between Nadikudi and Guntur.The land for the first 30 km of the total 308-km line should be handed over to the Railways, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao said in a review meeting held recently.

Centre to boost compost sale, build waste-to-energy plants
Soon, a tonne of compost generated in the city, which is sold to farmers, will fetch a reward of Rs. 1,500 by the Centre. The objective of the move is to boost sale of compost.A proposal to provide market development assistance in the form of fixed financial assistance from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers to this effect is before the Union Cabinet, said M Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Urban Development.
