FLASH-Govt issues notification for OROP implementation

NEW DELHI: The defence ministry on Saturday issued the notification for implementation of One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme. The ministry's announcement has come a day after defence minister Manohar Parrikar assured the ex-servicemen about OROP implementation before Diwali. Though the government had announced OROP scheme on September 5, a section of the veterans had continued their protest citing seven lacunae, including annual equalization, 2013-14 as the base year among others. .
