1)I have been talking to LIC CO, Chief Per & Secretary ER alternately, during last one month on some pending matters which I have been pursuing for some months earlier too.The absence of a Consultative Committee, which exists for all classes, including agents, is not available for Pensioners.This item, with reasoning, is included in our AIRIEF Charter of Demands.Yet, LIC Management & earlier Chairman Sri DKMehrotra replied saying why such provision, when for pensioners, any time you want us to meet, tell & arrange for a common date.The advantage of Minuting the talks ,even in summary form,they want to avoid as Deadlines, we will insist & that they don't want
2)Anyway, we have to press on & on with persistence & force, some we indeed secured & became reality.I told Chief Per that the heart of the issues of pensioners is regular deductions of Mediclaim premium from Pension as many go out of the good FFPolicy mediclaim ,due to going abroad, hospitalized during that period, forgetfulness etc & when one is out of the Scheme, a valuable benefit he loses. Chief Per assured that in the last few months, several talks & rounds with EDOS & others have taken place extensively,they are wanting to help pensioners, it involves big changes when once they introduce April toMarch FYear deductions for pensioners too& so he confirmed that this idea will be translated to action soon.
3)I politely but forcefully reminded Secretary ER that even Pensioners data ,mere numbers, ZOwise DOwise,after many emails to CO, talks with them, Chief Per, nothing has come.I referred to compulsory statements Personnel & OS have & that consolidation should not be difficult.All ZO/DOs are sending in compliance of RBI Mandate all payments must go thro NEFT only & I told them I have seen SZO statements that these payments in different forms,total will have to tally with pensioners.So, there should not be any difficulty to send Figures of RP,FP, Child Pensioners,Dependant Pensioners etc in no time.5 months, I reminded I am following, so pleaded,he can send 3/2015 or leaving culprit Zones, Other All India figures can be given or atleast immediately 31/3/2014 as we have only 31/8/2013 figures.I told Chief all these can be secured thro fup by lowerlevel authorities in CO & for LIC to say data is not received is not a happy state of affairs.
4)I then pursued the deficient attention by CO/ZO to TPAs & as many have still not received Laminated TPA Ecards for Pensioner & Spouse.I told him we learn during our meetings EC/OBAll India meets etc that TPA cards are not received, in 1 zone, it was not laminated,still some TPA want pensioners to download ECard ,as though all have internet.I wanted his intervention with TPAs as RBI regularly does in joint meeting & some semblance of empathy to pensioners TPA must display.I also pointed out SZ Pensioners received in July end itself & November is ending.I requested him to send latest position in a chart so that they can hasten on seeing such a prolonged delay & upsetting cashless service for which this becomes a must. I reported that as against earlier years employees & Pensioners Nil cashless. April—Sep 2015, in SZ, out of mediclaims settled,app 25 % is cashless ,both in numbers & amount app.Should that not improve further, for which TPAs must be very efficient,I said.
5)I took up Pensioners Portal,which also I reminded our valuable Note submitted as early as 4/2012 ,43 months before,CO only says external agency is doing but Pensioners deprived of knowing the position when all data is duly entered & contained.Unless a thrust is there,the agency will never complete the job & I told Chief always a deadline would be fixed & why we perpetuate inefficiency
6)ChiefPer is a good ,amiable person,pleasing in his reply, reveals good intentions,to my query replied Notification will take more time,2nd Pension option not immediately etc.He affirms that he will help pensioners as much as he can.He even, of his own,told 7th PC is pro-pensioners & change in thinking of Govt to assist elders will be a good sign they are watching. So I told 7 steps below gets more pension than his seniors, should not LIC allow,agree to enhance pension ,which is the crux, even in 7th PC Paras. I congratulated him for the wonderful wage agreement which Chairman was able to secure in full, far better than banks, as in LIC full DA as at 1/8/2012 is being merged with Basic Pay& that is really a breakthrough when IBA could not & simmering discontent in banks is visible,I added
7)I said atlast that a little faster solution if it comes to these matters,pensioners in general will feel happy that their interest & welfare are being protected & taken care of
