Chennai :  A 20 year-old youth from Villupuram district was declared brain dead at a hospital in the city on Monday, a day ahead of his birthday. His mother agreed to donate his organs on Tuesday. A note from the family said, K.Sasidharan was a third-year engineering student at a college in Padur.
On November 10, he was riding a motorcycle, when he lost control and fell near the toll gate at Sholinganallur.
He was admitted to Global Hospitals, where he initially improved, but eventually lost brain stem reflexes and was declared brain dead on Monday. His kidney, heart and eyes were donated on Tuesday. His mother, N.Vijayalakshmi alias Kavitha, had lost her husband in August this year, the note said.
