PROTEST DAY IN MUMBAI ON 10.02.2016
"You will kindly recollect that AIBRF organised the Protest Day in Azad Maiden, Mumbai on 25. 05.2015, in protest of IBA signing the settlement without addressing long pending demands of the retirees , not keeping its promises given during the rounds of negotiation and signing the controversial Record Note dated 25.05.2015. At the end of the demonstration, delegation of AIBRF met the Chairman of IBA followed by the meeting with the Chief Executive Officer, IBA who assured that AIBRF representative will be called for discussion on retiree issues after some time.
2. We have waited for last 8 months to get invitation from IBA as promised. During this period, we have sent 2/3 reminders to the IBA officials. But all have remained un-responded. You will kindly agree that vibrant organisation like AIBRF cannot remain silent on the issue, though IBA officials may be conveniently treating as forgotten issue.
3. In view of this, it has been decided to again organise PROTEST DAY at Azad Maidan , Mumbai on Wednesday, 10th February 2016 from 10.30 AM onwards. At the end of the programme, we shall be submitting Memorandum to IBA Chairman/Chief Executive in delegation lodging our protest against IBA not keeping its assurance and requesting them to hold discussion with the retiree representatives on the pending Issues listed in the Record Note dated 25.05.2015.
4. We call upon our membership located in Mumbai, nearby area, Pune and Nasik to participate in the Protest Day to the maximum number and make it a grand success. We enclose list of office bearers/ central committee members located in Mumbai, Pune and Nasik who will be responsible to spread the message of the programme among the membership and bring maximum number of the members at the venue. In addition to this we request all affiliates to ensure maximum presence from their respective banks.
We expect these office bearers / Central Committee Members to send their assessment about the attendance by 5th February, 2016 by mail. LET US MAKE THE PROTEST DAY GRAND SUCCESS AND SEND RIGHT MESSAGE TO IBA.
5. In addition to the above, our State Bodies are organising Dharna-cum-Demonstration Programme as under:
(a) Demonstration-cum-Dharna at Ahmedabad on 15th February 2016 by Gujarat State Body;
(b) Demonstration-cum-Dharna at Bangalore on 18th February, 2016 by Karnataka State Body;
(c) Demonstration-cum-Dharna Programme by A.P.& Telangana State Body in the first week of March 2016.
6. Comrades, we have to give effective message to IBA/ Government that bank retirees are not going to sit silent till they take effective steps to resolve them.
