: Giving effect to revised Dearness Relief.

Dear Mr Kishore,
One has to exert so much even for
minor matters with LIC!
I refer to the deduction of Mediclaim premium in 12 instalments from the pension of pensioners as is done for serving personnel from their salary - something which I, in my insignificant individual capacity, have been unsuccessfully pursuing for quite a long while.
Thank you and those unknown pensioners  who have worked so much for bringing it about.
Two other matters to be rung in are :      (1) revision of Dearness Relief EVERY THREE MONTHS as is done for serving personnel and not every six months as at present in as much as the value of a Rupee three months hence is not the same as it is now and there is absolutely no justification at all for discriminating serving/retired personnel in this as inflation affects both equally.
     (2) transfer of pensioners' records between the two D Os (I & II)  in Chennai (Madras) according to the expressed wish of the pensioner as is done in Delhi, Kolkatta and Mumbai. One fails to appreciate why Chennai alone is not reckoned on par in this matter with the other three metros.
I must record my thanks to you again for making that happen in my case - from Chennai D O 2 to Chennai D O 1 - something which I failed to get done even after relentlessly pursuing it for some three years with Southern Z O and C O who were merrily kicking the ball into each other's court, thoroughly and insensitively unmindful of the human pathos behind it.
     Keep well.
     Regards.
P. Ramanathan.
