Former bank employees affiliated to the Salem and Namakkal district All Banks Retirees Coordination Committee staged a demonstration in front of the head post office in the city on Saturday demanding steps to revise their pension.
They demanded the Indian Banks Association to revise the pension of the retirees whenever the salary of the bank staff is revised.
They demanded the IBA to provide 100 per cent dearness allowance to the bank employees who retired prior to Novembers 2002.
The agitation was also to demand revision of the family pension.
Explaining the demands, R. Narasimhan, secretary of the All Banks Retirees Coordination Committee, urged the IBA to come forward to hold negotiations with the All India Bank Retirees Federation on their demands.
M. Swaminathan, president, Salem District Bank Employees Association, and S. V. Krishnamoorthy, former president of the Association, spoke highlighting the demands
Regards, E.R.Iyer
