TODAY's DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SUPREME COURT- FROM SHRI M S MURTY

DEAR ALL,
I reproduce here under the  two messages sent by Mr M Sreenivasa Murty on today's developments in the Supreme Court:

"Message sent to Editor LIC Pensioners’ Chronicle at 16:35:29

“Subject: SO CLOSE BUT SO FAR - LIC IS LUCKY/PENSIONERS ARE UNLUCKY
FOR SOME MORE DAYS

Today's dramatic developments in the Court, ended with agonizing disappointment. But not before LIC's spirited plea for adjournment was declined twice in the day due to stiff opposition by Mr Saurav
Aggarwal, Advocate appearing for Hyderabad Association and not before LIC got exposed  on every count.

Justice Misra agreed to hear the matter on merits later when the ASG is available but insisted on LIC explaining how 20% payment Order is complied with. To facilitate the same, the case was granted a pass
over (to hear before the end of the day). Next cases were taken up.
There was hectic activity  in all camps and LIC men were seen running all over.

At 3.40 PM, after the regular case No 108 was being heard, the Bench abruptly rose for the day announcing, "we hear the remaining matters later".

That's it. LIC officers were seen running in to the Court Hall, only to realize the Bench is empty.

Will wait for all commentaries from all, to report mine. Rushing to airport to catch the next flight home.

“Many enquiries are coming about the next date. Some have even circulated 30th March. The official position is that no date is fixed in the open Court as the matter was not heard and as the adjournment
request by LIC was turned down.

Since the Court is closed for Holi etc., the next possible date is the first Wednesday after holidays which happens to be 30th March. We will know more from the weekly list released on previous Friday. It could
even be 31st like today. There is no direction from the Bench this time. So the Registry/Computer Section would take care of it.

Let us hope it is 30th. And what happens on that day - GOK.

If Final hearing starts, good. Otherwise, we don't have to ask for 20%. Justice Misra would ask. He knows now how cunning is LIC.

I believe in ultimate justice to ALL Pensioners. It will come. LIC cannot stop.
