AIRIEF OBs & LC Meet at New Delhi on 2nd May.

Respected Sri.Kishoreji,  Namaskar.
Yesterday's write-up is superb. You have spared golden hours to impress upon the pensioner colleagues, within and outside the ambit of our AIRIEF. The sequence of events that passed by all these 18 years portray the efforts taken by AIRIEF right from attending to the issues of individuals up to giving deep considerations over court cases pertaining to our common major ones.
You have not missed to point out some of our pending issues to be taken up in the days to come after the end of the current errand. Any reader will get convinced that it is AIRIEF, and AIRIEF only, which is religiously fighting for the welfare of the entire class of LIC pensioners. Your fervent appeal for funds will certainly be responded by our brethren during the coming days. The trend is encouraging. Sri. Angurajan may be apprising you more in person on this count. Members are fully aware of the need of funds at this critical hour. Sri. Raju of Vizag & Sri.Manuelraj of Tirunelveli have shown the milky way. Sri. Raju of Vizag has already donated Rs.50,000/- and has promised to send some more periodically from now on. Really, a sacred soul to be emulated.

The meet of OBs / LC should give their utmost consideration on:-

   1. Finalising fresh and lacuna-free affidavit in consultation with Sr.Counsels.

   2. Engaging an eminent senior most counsel who is expert in Constitutional clauses ( 14, 16 & 21 ) and related case-laws. Deep analysis of Sec.48 of LIC Act and powers conferred on LIC CHAIRMAN under Sections 55 & 56, etc. Powerful and convincing presentation with suitable quotes of relevant case-laws pertaining to our case will alone land us in comfortable winning post.

   3. Already the Apex Court has observed that the retirees are eligible for the entire retirement benefits from the dates of their retirement. In our case, this is to be applied either from the date of commencement of pension scheme or from the date of retirement whichever is later.
Since Delhi Special Bench is to approach our issues afresh, it would be pertinent to place our arguments from the scratch and oppose the practice of introducing " cut-off dates " during implementation of  certain programmes.

   4. Sri. S.R.Agarwal hinted in the news column that a joint-consultation  meet is likely to be held between AIRIEF and All India Retired Class-I Federation during the first week of May. We have not heard anything officially from our end. But we will be happy that such a propositions  materialize.

We wish that our historical meet at Delhi would deliberate all valid points and take suitable decisions to face Delhi HC Bench with a single  motto of winning all the issues squarely in favour of much awaited  pensioner brethren.

Wishing the meet all success !

Sincerely yours,
M.P,Subrahmanian
