Dial 1924 to register postal complaints

NEW DELHI: The Union government on Monday rolled out a helpline for India Post consumers to register complaints about postal services. The toll-free number ' 1924 ' will be operational from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. initially on working days. Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said the complaints would be addressed within 24 hours of registration, except in the case of policy decisions. The complaints will be registered on a customer centre portal and an II- digit ticket number would be issued. Complainants can view the status of the complaint on the portal. " The service has been started in Hindi, English and Malayalam and gradually, we will start it in all regional languages," the Minister said.
