Earnest Appeal To All

Respected Colleagues,

   We are well aware that our twin demands of cent percent neutralization of DR to pre 01-0-1997 retirees and Upgradation / Revision of Pension from the eligible dates are engaging legal processes since almost one-and-a-half decades. Now the issues have come to the centre-stage. We cannot brush aside the initial tireless efforts of Sri. K.M.L.Asthana, who is the sole and prime cause for these moves. Though the Apex Court has set aside all the earlier judgments of three High Courts, certainly the effects of those judgments will reflect in some other forms during the ensuing arguments. It is but natural that AIRIEF took the timely decision of extending its full support by all means to the champion.

   We are also thoroughly aware that civil disputes will take ever-so-many time consuming shapes due to intricate legal procedures. Even when law-experts face such situations, it is not wise to throw blames squarely upon a single individual. For that matter, none, out of the subsequent petitioners, could claim that they have not erred in their earlier assumptions. Did we not proclaim every time that that day's proceedings would bring lasting solution to the pensioners ?  Our hopes became nightmares then. Every minute we learn from out of our own past assumptions. But, why ?  We refuse to believe that our opponents are capable of confusing and misleading the courts to divert their attention to hoodwink our pleadings. All of us are not masters of law. Every one has got limitation. At times mistakes do occur. We learn every day.

   All our issues are to be settled within a couple of months. They have reached the final stage. Let us not precipitate matters by accusing one another. All of us might have erred here and there. Let us forget it. Every member, in all our organisations, is dreaming that Delhi HC will deliver a favourable judgment on our twin demands and the Apex Court will endorse it in toto. 

                     We Are for :-

      1. Cent percent neutralization of DR ,   

                                 

      2. Upgradation / Revision of Pension from 01-11-1993 or from

          the date of retirement, whichever is later.  Whenever wages are 

          revised for working employees, pension too must be revised.

      3. It should be made applicable to all ( Pensioners, Family pensioners )

      4. Arrears to be paid within a stipulated time

              

                                      &

      5. Interest, for belated payment, at admissible rate 

   It is evident that all our pensioner-organisations are for both the above. Our arguments should be substituting one another and for God's shake, not against any one. Let our unanimous voice shatter the sinister moves of the unethical bureaucracy.
