GATE Result 2017 declared

GATE Result 2017 / Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE 2017 exam results set to be declared on March 27

 GATE Result 2017 : Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 results will be announced on March 27, 2017. Once the results are announced, candidates can check them on the official website gate.iitr.ernet.in.

GATE is one of the bench mark tests for engineering and science aptitude in facilitating admissions for higher education (M.Tech./Ph.D.) in IITs, IISc and other reputed institutions.
With the standard and high quality of the GATE examination in 23 disciplines of engineering and science subjects, GATE identifies the candidate’s understanding of a subject and aptitude and eligibility for higher studies.
This year, the exam was held on February 4, February 5, February 11 and February 12 in forenoon and afternoon sessions.
GATE 2017
Examinations for all the 23 papers (disciplines) of GATE 2017 were conducted by an ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT). A candidate was able to appear only in any one paper of the GATE examination. The online examination paper contains some questions for which numerical answers must be keyed in by the candidate using the virtual keypad. Rest of the questions were of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type.

  • Enter required details like GATE 2017 Registration Number, Roll Number and Date of Birth in the space/fields provided
  • Verify the accuracy of the entered credentials
  • Click on submit button
  • GATE 2017 result will be shown on the screen indicating whether you are qualified or not
  • If you have qualified only then you can download GATE score card 2017
The GATE 2017 Result will display the following information:
  • Candidate’s Name
  • GATE 2017 Registration No
  • GATE Examination Paper and Code
  • Marks obtained out of 100
  • Qualifying marks for the GATE paper
  • For candidates who have qualified, the All India Rank (AIR) will also be displayed

  • Download and save it for future references

GATE result 2017 will be valid for 3 years from the date of its announcement. GATE 2017 result and score card can be used for recruitment in PSUs like ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, SAIL etc. and for pursuing M.E., M.Tech, and Direct Ph.D. from IITs, NITs and CFITs. The marks of candidates in GATE 2017 will be calculated out of 100 while the GATE Score will be displayed out of 1000.

GATE is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and technology. The exam is conducted for admissions to post-graduate programmes (e.g., M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian institutes of higher education with financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and other government agencies.
