WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE VERDICT........Part 2
Dear ALL LIC Pensioner colleagues & Family Pensioners,
Yesterday I shared my view that while we wait for the verdict, we
cannot just wait and do nothing but we, (all the Petitioners), have work to
do. I now want to open up and speak out what is in my mind. I am OK with
whatever reaction/response (or no response) visits me. When the verdict is
out (Btw, I was talking to a Sr Advocate today from outside our team, who
asked me about the status of our case. When I informed him that the Judgement
was reserved on 21 Feb and we are expecting it to be delivered before 31
March because a batch will get disposed of in this financial year. He
dismissed the reason behind 31 March as I gave. Then he asked, what is the
time given by SC? On being told it is 30 April, he said 'then don't expect it
before 31 March – yours is a very heavy matter and Justice Khanna needs to
take his time) as we are all expecting and hoping for a positive outcome,
there will be celebrations, claims/counter claims all sorts of bonhomie for a
few days and then everybody has to wait for the Judgement copy to be
uploaded. The first important step from the Petitioners' side would be to
file a caveat in the Supreme Court. This is exactly the stage of my grave
concern, as the rigmarole starts all over again. Although the content of the
Caveat will be identical for all, do we visualize six separate Caveat
Petitions? Six different Sr Counsels? Is it going to be a repeat of the
Post-31 March 2016 scenario? Or have we (our leaders) learnt any lessons?
I want to throw this topic for open discussion, not only for the
Leaders but more for the members of different Organizations. We from the
Hyderabad Association are open for any dialogue with anybody. Without any
pre-conditions. Such thought-sharing cannot wait till after the Judgement is
out. Now is the best and correct time to start. We from the Hyderabad
Association have planned a major 'first move' in that direction for tomorrow
the 15th March 2017. On that note, I sign off for now to resume in my WHILE
