DHC judgment-What does it mean?

Dear All,

From whatever reports we have been receiving about the judgment, it only appears that the DR issue has been decided for pre-August 1997 retirees.But it is not clear how it will be implemented.

The consequences of improper adjudication on the wrong payment of 40% IR  seems to have taken its toll on the due benefits in the judgment also.

We need to read the full judgment and first be clear on what relief  the judgment provides and to whom.

It is a matter of relief that the IR paid will not be recovered, but it will have to be adjusted while calculating arrears.

I may not be surprised if not only the petitioners,but also LIC who  may have to seek clarifications from the DHC for implementing the directions given in the judgment.

Let us now wait for  a copy of the judgment.
