1)Yet
another death at Bengaluru, Sri KRChandrasekhar makes this news so sad
that a string of deaths of LIC pensioners has taken place.Sri KRC
belonged to a different tribe of
Executive chastened
by old traditions. jovial in attire, charming in manners ,handsome in
general, glow in his dealings, straight & simple in thinking, a
complete Marketing
executive,always dealing with
Branch officials chalking out targets & announcing steadfast
measures to achieve same. I had the privilege of working under him
& Sri Kota Reddy , 2 ADM Mktg & Gurumurty DM Mktg.all
under SDM Sri NBalasubramaniam ,1975, myself AO Mktg, witnessed the
tragic LIC skyscraper Building tallest under fire,great ruins,smoke
visible
miles away, we given badges , as whole area was
cordoned by Police,to enter back portion to assist removal of whatever
dockets or any worthy materials to be saved ,fireproof squads
groups passing swiftly to us, we formed a chain, lo, what a terrible tragedy struck LIC ,unbelievable.Fireengine spouts could not reach beyond 7th floor or so, damage far greater
2)Why
I narrate is ,many cheques Mortgage dept kept ready & so too other
Depts ,witnessed ,after 7 days when we were allowed to enter LIC Bldg, I
cld notice that my drawers 1& 3 were
charred
& gone for ever, while the middle ,protected as it is
perhaps,survived.Still some smouldering smoke came , we had to be
careful.We were huddled like sheep in a pen at St Marys Road, in an emergency
we have to cooperate. Sri Kota Reddy lost heavily, we were told, as
marriage in his family finalised, lot of currency he kept, wanting to
take next day, but tragedy befell, shocking, all became ashes , no retrieval possible.
3)Sri
KRChandrasekhar & we worked out plan& strategy, divided Mktg
dept into 4 teams & reverse decentralisation, got all Mktg records
from BOs.Sri TSSubramaniam OSD
designated exclusively for normalcy
restoration adjudged our Dept as the quickest to come to normalcy mode
without affecting field force activity . KRC was amiable in
disposition. Next
year when Sri RNarayanan took charge ,Trusty
Trio policies came,hectic planning by dynamic Sri RN, danglers
everywhere,in wind when it turns, 3 portions triangular "Play your
part,
Play it well , Play to win '". 100s of motivation letters,Telephone
Directory excluding duplicates, night & day we worked & sent to
public to take these policies.Madras came 1st in sale of
new policies with so many supplementary supports to BO officials & FF publicity materials.,beating bigger Metros KRC never looked a man with worry. Face was always charming, exuding
warmth.& affection.He was, therefore, a loveable personality.
Sorry, it was one such day Saturday, we work full to complete task,
telephone rang from home, there were 2 big thefts in
KKnagar LIC colony, all,our gold, silver, puja vessels,Nevico radiocum
transistor ,wedding diamond ring all gone "A " class thett but even
after years nothing SP could retrieve,
4)Though
a full life ageing gracefully,KRC left a deep & lasting impression
on all who came into contact with him. May his tribe increase in
attributes.
MAY
HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE. May the Almighty shower strength & courage
to his family to bear this loss with calm & equanimity
