Dear E.Rajendran Iyer,
I couldn't save my father, but I need your help to make sure no one else suffers like he did.
My father Dr Lalji Singh was a world renowned scientist, he was awarded an Padma Shri for his pioneering work on DNA fingerprinting technology.
He was travelling from Varanasi Airport to Hyderabad when he suffered a heart attack.
He was left stranded at the airport where there was no oxygen cylinder, no doctor, no ambulance to help him.
It was only two hours later that he received medical intervention at a distant hospital, but by then it was too late.
The doctors told us that my father would have survived if he had received medical help in the first hour.
Sign my petition asking the Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide basic medical facilities at all airports across India.
It came as a shock to me to learn that Airports across India do not have provisions for basic medical emergencies.
Every week, millions of passengers travel through airports. Once you enter an airport it is not easy to get out.
This is why it is extremely important to have basic medical support at all airports for emergencies. Sign my petition.
I can not bring back my father. Through this petition I want to make sure that no one else has to lose a loved one under such tragic circumstances.
Thank you for your support,
Abhishek Singh
