After 50 days CBDT Releases Java Utility of ITR-5 & ITR-7

Today CBDT has finally released after 50 days of start of Assessment Year 2018-19 Java Utility of ITR-5 (For persons other than:- (i) Individual,(ii) HUF,(iii) Company and (iv) Person filing Form ITR-7) and Java Utility of  ITR-7 [For persons including companies required to furnish return under sections 139(4A) or 139(4B) or 139(4C) or 139(4D) or 139(4E) or 139(4F)].

It is worthy to note that CBDT is failed to release excel utility of ITR-5 and ITR-7 and released only Java utility of ITR-5 and ITR-7. Further in respect of ITR-2 and ITR-3 also CBDT has not yet released excel utility.

Earlier CBDT has released Excel and Java Utility of ITR 1 on 14th April 2018, Excel and Java Utility of ITR-4 on 10th May 2018, Only Java Utility of ITR-2 on 15th April 2018 and Java Utility of ITR-3 on 18th May 2018.

CBDT has earlier notified ITR Forms vide Notification No. 16/2018-Income Tax dated 3rd April 2018. 

Due to consistent delay in release of ITR Utility by CBDT Taxpayer around the Country has started demanding Linking of ITR Due Date with ITR Utility Release date. Read-Link ITR Filing Due date with ITR E-filing Utility Release Date.

Now we have to see if CBDT extends due date of filing Income Tax Return in view of Punjab and Haryana High Court Judgment in the case of Vishal Garg Vs UOI in which High Court has instructed CBDT to ensure that the forms etc. which are to be prescribed for the audit report and for e-filing the returns should ordinarily be made available on the first day of April of the assessment year.
