ANXIETY OVER IMPLEMENTATION OF DHC JUDGMENT BY LIC

As a sequel to my post in the  pensioner  blogs, some anxious phone call was received by me from one of the octogenarian pensioners urging me not to advocate any legal step on the wrong date taken by LIC till the payment is received by the eligible pensioners.
My purpose in highlighting the misinterpretation of the DHC judgment was to expose such action of LIC before the Supreme Court and not to stop the payment of arrears.I will be the last person to come in the way of pensioners receiving some benefits that may be received  from the Corporation.
My only suggestion to the pensioners who will be receiving the arrears is to write to LIC after receiving arrears that they have received the amount under protest as they were entitled to get arrears from 18/12/1998 and not from 29/1/2007 only.Such a letter should go on record so that the issue can be highlighted in SC in our favour on and after 11/10/2018.
The arrears that pre-April 1993 retirees in Class I cadre will get will be about 77% of the arrears due to them from 18/12/1998.The post April 1993-pre August 1997  retirees will get about 81% of the arrears due from 18/12/1998.This difference itself is sufficient to highlight the DR anomaly prevailing for pre-August 1997 retirees and even between Para 1  & Para 2 pensioners.Para 1 pensioners are worse losers than para 2 pensioners.
The interest payable will come to  about 9.8% of the total DR arrears for both groups.
Greetings.
C H Mahadevan
