Discrimination with LIC Pensioners residing in B& C Class Cities under Group Medi Claim Policy for 2020-21

LIC Class One Retired Officers Association Panchkula (Regd) ================= Ref  1/ 20-21    14.04.2020 The  Chairman LIC of India CO Mumbai Dear Sir, Re :Discrimination with LIC Pensioners residing at  B/ Class Cities  under Group Medi Claim Policy for  FY 2020-21 Our Association has been taking up above referred issue with your goodself for the last many years However , Group Medi Claim Policy renewed for current year 2020-21 vide CO Circular Ref  CO/Per//ER-A /247/2020 dated 13.04.2020 has disappointed us once again As such we draw your kind & immediate attention for reconsideration of following issues once again 1 LIC Pensioners residing in B& C Class Cities are paying same amount of premium as being paid by our counterparts residing in  A Class Cities 2 As such , We cannot be discriminated in matter of benefits available under Group Medi Claim Policy 3  The perception of New India Assurance Company Ltd that room tarrif in B& C Class Cities is much lower is not based on facts The room rent being charged by   all Good Private Hospitals in C Class Cities  is much more than eligibility of Rs four thousand Room tarrif of three private hospitals at Panchkula listed below can be checked by Concerned Authorities on line Alchemist Hospital Sector 21  Panchkula Ojas Hospital Sector 26  Panchkula Paras Hospital near Nada Sahib Panchkula 4  The Group Medi Claim Policy for current FY provides higher room rent  to those  LIC Pensioners insured for Rs 40 lacs/ Rs 50 lacs residing in A Class Cities only   Why  similar benefit has not been extended  to those LIC Pensioners insured for Rs 40/ 50 lacs but  residing in B & C Class Cities? What is their fault ? 5 IRDA had issued clear guidelines against deduction of other benefits proportionately under Group Medi Claim  in case insured person gets admitted in a room with rent higher than his/ her eligibility However , even these  guidelines have not been complied under Our Group Medi Claim Policy for current year As such , we once again take this opportunity to request you to please reconsider our above referred submissions and issue suitable instructions to Personnel Deptt at CO  to remove said  discrimination under Group Medi Claim Policy  with LIC Pensioners residing in B & C Class Cities With our Thanks & Regards B R Mehta Senior Vice President Mob 9915040164 14.04.2020
