Reg: Transfer of Funds to Federation -- PM CARES Fund
It is now fairly clear that the 4th Phase of Lockdown, ie., the period starting from the 18th of May, will be a more liberal stage, with more aspects of economic activity being permitted. The Covid-19 Curve is still on the up and the expected flattening is not readily indicated yet. I think, in the overall, an attempt is being made to balance the various wheels of the economy, which had ground to a total halt in the face of the threat of community spread of the Virus, with the well organized fight against the spread of the Virus. The current phenomenon, of spike in numbers, could be due to more people being tested now, than earlier. The major saving grace, however , is that the whole big, less enlightened, population of this country, has been made aware of the need for preventive care through face masks, Sanitizers, and social distancing norms. So, it is expected that, even with some opening up, we might still remain within fair control over the spread of this Virus.
In this background, it may now be the right time for the Federation to send in its Collections in the various Associations, to the PM CARE Fund. That requires, that we first of all, transfer the amounts collected in the Associations, to the Federation Account. Details of Federation Bank Account Number and the IFSC code are given at the end of this Circular, to enable the Associations which have made the collections, to transfer the Amounts to the Federation's Bank Account.
Kindly note that full details of the unit remitting the amount should be furnished while transferring the amounts to our Federation account. The details of remittances are to be sent to our Treasurer Shri Ramesh Dalal's mail id Ramesh_dalal@yahoo.com , our Vice president Shri D M Pathak's e-mail id dm.pathak@yahoo.com apart from our Federation's mail id retdlicofficersfedn@gmail.com . These are absolutely essential for the treasurer to account the money received appropriately.
In the context of social distancing Norms that are likely to be in place for quite some time to come, the holding of Annual General Body Meetings of Associations in the usual manner might come under pressure. We will need to think of how we devise alternate methods to cross this stage, while still managing to fulfil the essence of the AGM, which is to inform the members of the Activities for the year, and submission of Accounts. We shall be coming back on what could be the alternatives, a while later.
