Dear Comrade,
Re: Sanction of Improvement in Family Pension
We are extremely happy to note from UFBU communication issued after signing of MOU on 11th Bipartite Settlement that IBA Chairman announced in meeting for in principle approval for increase in family pension at 30 per cent from the present 15 per cent without any celling.
2. This was very important and long pending demand of bank retirees. It will benefit more than 72,000 family pensioners; more than 95 per cent of them are female. The present level of family pension is very paltry and low. With this quantum of pension it was increasing becoming difficult for them to meet expenses of basic necessities. Now , with this increase, they will be able to lead the life with dignity and respect and will provide them financial security.
3. This important demand of retiree could be achieved because of the active support extended by UFBU and its constituents and raising the issue in meetings of negotiating committees from time to time. AIBRF ,its 44 affiliates and more than 2.5 lakh members express their profound thanks to you and leaders of UFBU constituents for achieving this long pending and important demands of retirees. UFBU has done great service to the family pensioners for which we all will remain grateful to you.
4. We are confident that other pending issues of retirees will also be resolved and achieved while working details of the settlement.
With Revolutionary Greetings,
Yours Sincerely,
(S.C.JAIN)
GENERAL SECRETARY
c.c. General Secretaries of All Constituents of UFBU
We convey very special thanks to all of you for extending their support in achieving this demand of retirees. We are sure similar support will be coming in resolution of other pending issues of retirees.

Improvement in family pension is not a subject of MOU signed between IBA & UFBU.
