I was saddened beyond words when I just got the message of the passing away of our beloved shri NP Bali at Mumbai last night (11/12). All of us knew he was seriously ailing for more than a year .We had hoped he will
recover but God has willed otherwise.
My personal association with Bali saheb was indeed both long and strong .
I recall the interest he used to take on the welfare of officers of LIC .He was a regular participant at the Gen council meetings of the Federation of LIC Class1 officers' of which I was the Gen.secy for a long period till 1991.
After retirement his interest continued with the same vigour and I cannot forget his gesture of instantly agreeing to take over as the President of the Retd class1 officers'federation at the meeting held at Bangalore in Nov
2015.
My frequent visits to Mumbai during the years 2016 & 2017 brought us still closer to each other and that was the time when I had the opportunity of knowing his personality fully. He was a man of firm convictions with pleasing manners .He had no airs about the positions he occupied in LIC or in our representative organisations.Humility was the hall mark of his virtues.
We have really lost a gem amongst us and my sincere condolences to is bereaved family and his vast circle of friends.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
OM Shanti.
