My take on today's CO Circular on Special Entry.

My take on today's CO Circular on Special Entry.

-----------------------------------------------

1. Special Entry is not a new thing.

2. CO OS Manual dtd 31-3-2012 contains provision for Special Entry. Refer Page 84 section 3(iii) on Mediclaim Scheme.

3. Applications / Representations given for Special Entry by a Pensioner - whether Regular or Family - has been turned down by the competent authority stating that Special Entry is NOT applicable to Retired Employees.

4. In the present circular also nowhere says that it is applicable to Retired Employees. So Retired employees have been deprived of the Special Entry.

5. Clause 6 clearly says that Premium is recoverable from Salary for the month of March. In case of Retirees the Premium is recoverable from February Pension.

So, it is NOT applicable to Retirees.

6. *However this is best opportunity to NOIP to insist for inclusion of Retirees also in the Special Entry clause.*
