To General Secretaries of our All India Bankwise Organisations - Important -

Dear Comrades,

All are aware that due to the leading role played by AIBEA and fully supported by AIBOA, we could achieve the best social security benefit of DA linked Pension for bank employees and officers. Thereafter, we have been taking up one by one the issues of the pensioners.

One more option : When more than 3 lacs employees, officers and retirees had not opted for pension, we pursued and finally achieved one more option to join the pension scheme in 2010 and all of them were immensely benefitted by joining the pension scheme.

100 % DA : Thereafter we pursued the issue of extending 100% DA for pre-Nov. 2002 pensioners. But the issue was in litigation before Supreme Court by some retirees and at the end, the Supreme Court refused to accept the demand. However we have been pursuing the issue and we are happy that recently the IBA agreed to this demand and Government has also approved the same. This will benefit more than 180,000 pensioners.

Improvement in Family Pension : Earlier, during the 11th Bipartite negotiations the issue of improvement in family pension was pursued and IBA agreed to improve family pension at 30% without ceiling subject to approval by the Government. After due approval by the Government, it has also been implemented and thousands of family pensioners have been benefitted by the same.

Ex-gratia for pre-1986 Retirees : Regarding pre-1986 retirees, the ex­gratia was very less (Rs. 350 + DA). After a lot of persuasion, IBA issued Advisory to Banks to grant ex-gratia of Rs.10,000 per month.

Option for Resignees : UFBU is now pursuing the issue of getting an option for resignees and we are following up the same.

Updation : We are also pursuing the issue of updation/improvement in pension. The issue is being delayed due to cost implications. However, UFBU is pursuing the matter vigorously.

Pensioners belong to different Settlement periods from 5th to 11th BP Settlements from 1-1-1986 till now.

Hence it is necessary to collect the details of the pensioners in different Banks. Our All India Bankwise Unions/Federations are requested to obtain and furnish the following details regarding pensioners in the respective Banks.

The details may obtained as on 31-3-2023 or 30-9-2023.
