A webex meeting today (29th March, 2025)

Dear friends,
The Secretary, Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, GoI, New Delhi conducted a webex meeting today (29th March, 2025) from 10.30 am to 11.45 am with the Pensioners Associations across the country.
The meeting is to remove the Pensioners' apprehension on the applicability of 8th CPC in view of validation of Pension Rules passed in Lok Sabha.

I received an invitation from the DOPPW to participate in it  and accordingly I represented our AGOPA in the above meeting.

Firstly,  Staff side JCM members like Shiv Gopal Mishra, Gunman Singh spoke and expressed their apprehension about the Government move.

The Secretary told that in 6th CPC, there is a disparity and distinction between pre and post 2006 retirees. But, there is no such distinction in 7th CPC between pre and post 2016 retirees.
The Secretary clarified that this 7th CPC position of no disparity is the policy of the Govt and it will continue.

Then, all of us asked as to why the Finance Bill included the Validation of Pension Rules?

The Secretary told that this is not an amendment to the Pension Rules but it is a Validation of existing rules.

The Secretary categorically assured that there will be no disparity or distinction between pre and post retirees of 8th CPC also.

Then, the Associations wanted the department to issue a notification to the above extent.

The Secretary accepted to issue the notification of what he assured us in the meeting.
