Incidentally, the following matter was sent by you through mail on the above subject to some of the recipients:-

Please find attached various files in the matter of the Pension Fund.

The Bank has been replying to RTI queries on Pension Fund right from Shri Talekar's time. As per the Bank's letter to GOI, a separate Pension Fund is supposed to be maintained (See para 1.4 of the Bank letter dated 17/7/1990 attached.) However they have now amalgamated Pension Fund with new Fund Gratuity & Superannuation Fund by issuing its proposal dated 22 April 2022 published in Gazette ( copy at Annexure 4 attached in RTI reply pertaining to the year 2021/22). Pension being property under the Article 300A of the constitution Pension Fund is supposed to be maintained exclusively and Payments towards Gratuity, Additional Gratuity, Compassionate  Gratuity and tax on gratuity is to be made by debit to the profit of the Bank. For unknown reasons the Bank has chosen this wrong path. Shri Mangesh Tarambale has, therefore, raised relevant queries in the matter. All replies received by him are attached. We have also attached a statement of payments right from 2018/19 to 2023/24 as per which Payments of Rs. 1700/- crores have been made towards Gratuities. One needs to  do analysis of the statement and understand intricacies in  the matter.  

The replies received indicate that the Bank is not inclined to reply to probing queries. We are afraid of the safety of the Pension Fund. 

These developments on account of amalgamations were briefed to the Convener of the Forum in RBI way back in Dec2022 while we were in Kolkata. We were conveyed that constituents of the forum are not inclined to write to the Bank. Incidentally we may mention that more than 5000 incumbents were old pension scheme optees as per actuarial information then. Hoping the Forum to do needful in the natter.    

We are all serious about these developments as it is a matter of safety of the pension fund and shall work hard for safety of the Pension Fund.        

Based on the above, you may like to flash and escalate the matter at all-India level as suggested by you. I am also copying this mail to Paulsil Ji.
