NATIONAL ORGANISATION OF INSURANCE PENSIONERS

 *NATIONAL ORGANISATION OF INSURANCE PENSIONERS* was formed on 10th Oct, 2004 - by like minded people in Mumbai. Late Sri C Y Kalele ji became 1st GS and Sri S L Burman ji 1st President.

NOIP immediately on its formation submitted 1st Charter of Demands for LIC Pensioners. Many eye brows were raised. Charter of Demands for Pensioners, was never heard of before this.

*NOIP became a trend setter.*

When I joined NOIP in January, 2011 my Life Membership Number was 495. That is in 6 years less than 500 members were enrolled.

When Sri Ashok Joshi ji took over the reign of NOIP, he started aggressively enrolling new members. Late Sri S D Kulkarni ji advised Sri Ashok ji to hold 1st All India Conference when membership touches 1000. We had to wait for that till Sept, 2016. Late Sri Vilas Purkar ji - who was NOT even a Pensioner (PF optee) took responsibility to  organise 1st All India Conference at Nashik. Just a little more than 100 persons attended the Conference (including spouses).

*It was decided here that our membership should get doubled when 2nd Tri-ennial Conference will be held in Sept, 2019.*

Our membership was almost 2000 when 2nd Tri-ennial Conference was held at New Delhi in 9/2019. Late Sri Vilas Purkar ji - who by then became Pensioner due to OMOP - took over the reins of NOIP as its GS.

The motto of NOIP became "*Service to Pensioner community of LIC*".

Many issues of Pensioners were taken up at appropriate levels, and got resolved the satisfaction of the Pensioner community - be it Medi Clm issue, Pension refixation, GIS to VRS optees etc.,

The 3rd All India Tri-ennial Conference was held at Surat in 9/2022. Surat NOIP was just formed. Although a nascent unit did wonderful arrangements and Conference was a grand success. Our membership was nearly *4400* then. That is more than double. Here a decision was taken to cross dream target of 10,000 Net Membership by 9/2025, when 4th Tri-ennial Conference will be held. Sri Ashok Joshi ji took reins of NOIP again.

The 4th Tri-ennial Conference scheduled to be held in Sept, 2025 got preponed by SIX months and was held at Agra from 7th to 9th of this month.

*Thanks to all Activists for their efforts, the dream target was achieved SIX months in advance ie within 30 months.*

The most significant achievement in these 30 months is that NOIP has spread it wings in East & North India. That is the reason why in the Conference our GS declared that future 6 years belong to North & East India. One more significant change is that all OBs above 70 yrs have stepped down and a *YOUNG, DYNAMIC TEAM HAS TAKEN OVER THE REINS OF NOIP.*

In these more than 2 decades of our existence, NOIP has many feathers in its cap. Achieved a lot - especially uniform 30% Family Pension, Increase in Ex-gratia to pre-1986 retirees etc., It will be a too large a write up if I go on enumerating all our achievements.

Now, when the 5th Tri-ennial Conference will be held in 9/2028, we should cross 20,000 net membership. *"EACH ONE BRING ONE"* is the slogan to achieve this challenge.

This is how, NOIP has grown from scratch to a gigantic Pensioners Organisation to "Serve the Pensioners".
