SC judges declared that "One Rank One Pension" is applicable to them only and not to Pensioners of LIC like Gods discriminated human beings which is said to be his own creation in matters of his lively hood up to death and 90% humanity who are believers in Gods/Discrimination. The theory of non-discrimination failed after 7 decades in Russia and 3 decades in China after millions and millions of deaths of innocent people as both nations declared that that theory cannot be implemented without violence. No wonder they are still praying at SC even after 25 years with so called justice denied and 50000 pensioners died from 1.9.56 without sympathy even from their own In-Service who are getting more and more every five years.
Present retirees were also once In-Service and didn't want to end all discriminations including pension with the support of their mentors in TU and in ideology with the collaboration of management and GOI from 1.9.56 till this day. Now they plead helpless like graded Hindu Caste Hierarchy. Both may end after their deaths.
In Spite of scientific evidence that the whole human population could be compressed ina sugar cube, they believe in various Gods which were invented by imagination as they had huge leisure after agricultural revolution and stories of superstitions are believed by 90% of humanity like flat- earth theory once. Why? AI over view: Belief in gods and superstitions persists despite scientific evidence due to a complex mix of psychological needs, cultural transmission, a desire for control over uncertainty, and the inherent differences between the nature of scientific inquiry and religious faith.
Psychological Reasons
Sense of Control: Humans naturally desire a sense of control over their lives and environment. In situations of uncertainty or fear (like crop failures or disease outbreaks), belief in supernatural forces or rituals provides an illusion of control and reduces anxiety, even if there is no actual causal link.
Pattern Recognition: The human brain is "wired" to recognize patterns and assume cause-and-effect relationships, a cognitive bias known as patternicity. This can lead people to link unrelated events (e.g., a specific action and a positive outcome), forming the basis of superstitious behavior.
Emotional Comfort: Belief in a higher power or an afterlife can provide immense emotional solace and a coping mechanism for dealing with life's hardships, trauma, and the fear of death.
Cognitive Dissonance: Once a belief is deeply held, often from a young age through cultural indoctrination, people tend to resist new information that conflicts with their existing worldview. It requires less mental effort to dismiss new evidence than to realign fundamental beliefs.
Sociological and Cultural Reasons
Social Cohesion: Shared beliefs and values help establish social cohesion and a common identity within a community. Religious systems provide a moral framework and a sense of belonging, which are powerful social forces.
Cultural Transmission: Religious and superstitious beliefs are often passed down through generations via verbal communication and cultural practices. They become deeply ingrained in a society's culture, making them resistant to change.
Lack of Exposure/Understanding: In some cases, individuals may not be exposed to scientific knowledge, or the scientific explanations may be difficult to understand, making simpler, traditional explanations more appealing.
The Role of the Agricultural Revolution
The agricultural revolution, while providing more leisure time for complex thought and creativity, also led to new vulnerabilities like dependence on weather and potential crop failures. This lack of control over vital outcomes likely reinforced the need for belief systems and rituals (e.g., rainmaking ceremonies, crop blessings) to seek divine favor and manage anxiety, further integrating religion into daily life and social structures.
Science vs. Religion
Fundamentally, science and religion operate on different aspects of human experience. Science requires explanations to be based on empirical evidence and is constantly subject to modification or abandonment in the face of conflicting data. Religious faith, in contrast, often involves supernatural entities that are outside the scope of scientific investigation and does not necessarily rely on or change due to empirical evidence.
