On the administrative side, CJI Gavai took the historic step of introducing reservations for SC/STs in the Supreme Court staff recruitment. It took nearly seven decades to implement the constitution at SC itself. LIC itself implemented reservation policy in 1970s only. So there were huge backlog for their promotions resulting Assistants recruited there after retired as DMs without any further qualifications except passing a diluted standard departmental test for HGAs just like AAOs recruited need not acquire any further professional qualifications to get further 4 to 6 promotions. Only Assistants from private insurers and newly recruited after the formation of LIC were destined to retire as Asst/A+30 ie.,SH except few Chamchas to officers among them were treated like officers treating service for decades were treated as useless/dead wood. Such a mentality didn't prevail in any PSU except LIC which gave lakhs and lakhs crores of windfall profit to GOI even more than SBI which gave pension from 1955. Whose fault it is done in the name of merit ?Those fighting at SC do not consider this as discrimination. Karma punished both perpetrators of crime and victims whose mentors are anti-workers.
