This photo was taken yesterday. The person seen with Shri Narendra Modi in this photo is someone most people don't recognize, and the media too has deliberately chosen not to mention him. He is a family member of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — the man who gave everything for the Congress Party.
After Sardar Patel's death, not only did Jawaharlal Nehru and the Congress Party insult him in many ways, but they also systematically harassed his family. Eventually, almost all members of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's family had to leave India and settle in different countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, has consistently shown respect and recognition for Sardar Patel's immense contribution to the making of India — despite Patel having belonged to the Congress Party. Over the past twenty-five years, both the Gujarat and Central governments have paid appropriate tribute to his legacy, something that could happen only because the Congress was not in power.
Yesterday, October 31, was Sardar Patel's birth anniversary. On this occasion, his family members came to India to attend events in Gujarat. Prime Minister Modi gave them special time, honored them personally, and held discussions with them — this photo was taken during that meeting.
