To ALL THE UNITS AFFILIATED WITH AIRIEF

2/12/2025, a delegation comprising S/Shri VS Sikarwar, AnandTyagi ji and Dattatraya Deshpande met, on behalf of AIRIEF, with Shri Sanjay Joshi, the former National Secretary, BJP, at 11.15 am, by prior appointment, in his office in New Delhi, to request him to arrange for an appointment with the Secretary (DFS) in connection with a few pressing issues which have not been subject matter of the adjudication by the Supreme Court.

The meeting took place in a very pleasant atmosphere and lasted for about 15 minutes. As the delegation members introduced themselves, he enquired about our issues. They then handed him a Note containing the four core issues viz.

  • 1.
Full pension to the Family Pensioner till the notional age of 67 (instead of 65) of the deceased pensioner or for seven years
  • 2.
Apprentice ship period of Apprentice Dev. Officers to be reckoned in the qualifying years for pension
  • 3.
Fixation of the Pension on the basis of 'Last Basic Pay' or 10 Months' average emoluments' whichever is favourable and
  • 4.
Additional Pension on completion of 80 Years and every five years thereafter.

He went through the Note and also obtained from the delegation the details of the issues. He immediately spoke over his cell phone to the FM, and referred to his meeting with our delegation and his discussion on the issues contained in our Note. However, she advised him to ask our delegation to submit a Memorandum to her which she said that she would then forward to the 8th CPC for consideration. He was informed by our delegation that our issues are not covered in the Terms of Reference of the 8th CPC.

Shri Tyagi then gave Shri Sanjay Joshi the mobile number of Secretary (DFS) and requested Shri Joshi to arrange a meeting with the Secretary in order to discuss these issues. He promptly called the Secretary (DFS) but the latter had gone to Parliament as the Parliament is in session.

Shri Joshi assured our delegation that he would arrange a meeting as desired by us and would inform us about the Time and Date of the meeting. At this point, the meeting with him ended. We shall keep you posted on the development in respect of the meeting with the Secretary (DFS) as and when it takes place.

Earlier they also paid a courtesy visit to Shri Abdul Gufran , Under Secretary, DFS, on 1stDecember 2025. The above mentioned four issues came up for discussion with him also. He remained tight-lipped about the progress in the DFS on these issues but mentioned that if we follow up vigorously at least first two issues might get a clearance from the Dept. AIRIEF will soon be submitting the Memorandum representing these issues once again to the FM and would be following up with the Department till all the issues are cleared.

Friends, it will be clear from these developments that the organisation has been making every effort to have our issues resolved, in the Court and at the Central Government level also. With fraternal greetings,

(RANJAN DEY SARKAR)

GENERAL SECRETARY

AIRIEF
