Dear Comrade,

Sub: Updates on M.C. Singla case on Pension Updation pending before the Supreme Court of India.

Com. K.V. Acharya, President of AIBPARC and Joint Convenor, CBPRO has received the following message from our Advocate, Shri Sewaram:

Quote:

CA number 7993/2023: M.C. Singla Vs UOI: the Division Bench no 2 consisting of Hon’ble Mr. Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta had part heard the matter and it was directed to be listed on 18.02.2026. That, however, as per the cause list for 18.02.2026, Hon’ble Court 2 shall consist of three judges namely HMJ Vikram Nath, HMJ Sandeep Mehta and HMJ N.V Anjaria. Hence, our matter is not listed as it has to be listed before two judges Bench. If all the three judge Bench matters listed in the Court no 2 on 18.02.2026 are heard on that day, then there is a possibility that our matter may come up on 19.02.2026 or otherwise we may have to wait for the hearing list for 25/26 February, 2026. In the meantime, on 16.02.2026, we are filing the documents as directed in the order dated 05.02.2026.

Text of the next message of Shri Sewaram (17.02.2026):

The supplementary list for regular matters for Courts for 18.02.2026 has been issued. There is no supplementary list for Court no 2. Hence M.C. Singla matter will not come up for hearing on 18.02.2026.

Text of message received from Shri Sewaram today (18th February 2026)

The Supreme Court regular matter list for h earing on 19.2.26 has been issued. court no.2 will consist of full bench of three judges and as such M C Singla case is not listed on 19.2.26. now we shall await for list of 25/26 Feb. 2026.The matter may be listed on 25/26 February, 2026. please also note that supreme court shall be closed from 28th Feb. 2026 to 8th march 2026 for Holi vacations. Bringing happiness into your life while inequality increases requires shifting focus from external comparisons to internal, controllable, and communal factors. Research suggests that while systemic inequality is detrimental to overall societal well-being, individuals can cultivate personal happiness by building resilience, focusing on gratitude, fostering deep relationships, and engaging in meaningful,,peruitsy of New Hampshire

Here are strategies to find happiness despite increasing inequality:
1. Shift Your Mindset and Focus
Practice Gratitude: Actively acknowledge what you have rather than focusing on what you lack. Keeping a "gratitude journal" to record small, daily positive moments can shift your mindset from scarcity to abundance.
Avoid Upward Social Comparison: Constant comparison with the "better-off" is detrimental to happiness and fuels feelings of relative deprivation. Focus on your own journey, as you cannot control the vast gaps in wealth.
Limit News and Social Media Exposure: Constant consumption of stories regarding suffering and extreme wealth disparity can increase anxiety and feelings of hopelessness.
Choose a "Happiness Story": Instead of letting external circumstances dictate your emotions, choose a, constructive, or even positive, interpretation of your situation, such as viewing challenges as tests of strength rather than signs of failure.

2. Focus on What You Can Control
Build Personal Resilience: Develop your capacity to "bounce back" from challenges. This includes managing stress through breathing techniques, exercise, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Invest in Relationships: Strong social connections are the #1 predictor of happiness and are a key way to cope with adversity. Prioritize time with family and friends, as lower-income individuals often find more joy in relationships than in material status.
Find Meaning in Small Acts: Engage in hobbies, volunteering, or acts of kindness. Helping others through small, non-monetary actions can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Set Small, Achievable Goals: Pursue goals that offer a sense of identity and purpose, which boost self-esteem, regardless of your financial status.

3. Cultivate Joy in Daily Life
Simple Living/Minimalism: Reduce the pressure of consumerism by focusing on a "simple life" within your means. This can alleviate the anxiety associated with trying to keep up with the "haves".
Connect with Nature and Creativity: Simple, free, or low-cost activities like walking in nature, watching the sunset, or working on a creative project (painting, writing, singing) can offer escape and joy.
"Kintsugi" Approach: Embrace the Japanese art of mending broken things with gold—treat your life's struggles as scars that add beauty and value to your story rather than as evidence of unworthiness.
4. Constructive Engagement
Create Local Communities: Small, local, supportive communities help people feel more secure and fulfilled, reducing the pressure of competing with the entire world.
Advocate for Change: Channel frustration into action by advocating for policies that promote fairness, such as improved education, healthcare, and social protections in your local community.
By focusing on these internal and communal factors, you can build a stable, happy, and fulfilling life that is less dependent on external, unequal economic f
