https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/uttar-pradesh/up-hikes-minimum-wages-across-categories-after-noida-unrest/article70860077.ece Please copy this and paste at Google search. The Uttar Pradesh government has hiked minimum wages across worker categories following unrest in Noida, with revised rates coming into effect from April 1 retrospectively, officials said on Tuesday (April 14, 2026). Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Medha Roopam said, "The wage increase has been done by the high-powered committee." She added, "The decision was approved by CM UP late last night." In Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad, unskilled workers will now get ₹13,690 per month, up from ₹11,313, while semi-skilled workers will receive ₹15,059 and skilled workers ₹16,868, according to an official statement. (This happened on mass protests by workers and not by any TUs which became dormant/dead for last two decades due to politics every where. Long back workers used to agitate and go in procession on roads each day in especially KOLKATA/WB and all over India just to stay where they were (stagnant) and not for improvement in lives. Only economic reforms of PVN RAO made increase of 3% PA in wages for 3 decades culminating double the real wages now after inflation. Still workers are unable to lead a decent life after 78+ years. One presumes there will be mass agitations in future to get a portion of increase in productivity due to technology which is now fully appropriated by top 10%, 1% , 0.1% in a graded manner of Hindu Caste Hierarchy perhaps like in LIC where IN- Service betraying their seniors and by not agitating for loss of TU rights under ID Act 1947 since 1981.No one talks about wind fall profit of more than 10 lakh crores given to GOI by LIC in the form of 96.5% shares, Dividends for 68 years, excess value of huge market values of real estate all over India as against book value of the same.)
