*Varishtha Vaani – July 2026 edition :*
You are aware that the cost of paper and printing is increasing continuously. Similarly, it has also been observed that the new subscription for VV is not coming as it was few years ago. We requested every RIEA to ensure that every new member also subscribes for VV but that is not happening everywhere. During these years we tried to give RIEA activities reporting, necessary and important information via VV to our members. It is good that many RIEAs are honouring their senior members and their photos are shared for VV printing. Now a days there are 12 colour pages and 20-24 B&W pages. Color pages cost more. In order to control and reduce the expenses we are planning as under from next edition (i. e. July 2026) :-
2. The softcopy will have everything – RIEA activities photos, photos of honouring of members and photos of other important events. Plus, regular material like Gist of Circulars, RIEA reports, important articles etc.
3. In printed copy, the color pages will be reduced to 4 only and will not cover photos of honourinag of members and other activites. The RIEA activities regarding AGM etc will find place and depending on the space available photos will be printed. Photos of donors of Rs.10,000/= and more will certainly find place in printed copies.
4. We will try to shorten the RIEA reports and maximum half page will be given for every RIEA reporting. *Please therefore send short reports only.*
5. New members enrolled list will not be printed as it has been observed that all RIEAs are not sharing this information. Instead, these details will be in tabular format as under :-
a. Sl.No.
b. Division name
c. No.of members enrolled during the quarter
d. No. of members enrolled during the year (2026-27).
e. No. of new subscribers for VV enrolled during the year (2026-27)
6. Of course, AIRIEF GB and EC meettings will be covered in detail as usual.
Expecting your cooperation,
Chief Editor

‘It is good to be lazy, in the sense of not being incessantly active like an ant or monkey, everlastingly doing something. Most of our minds are everlastingly occupied with words, with problems, with ideas and issues – always chattering to itself, never lazy, never quiet, always under a tension. A mind that is not indolent but has quietude, in its very gentleness, perceives in a flash what is true. That laziness, that indolence, that sense of infinite leisure is not to be confused with comfort. A mind that has leisure is an extraordinary mind, because then it is not caught up in the net of action, it is not everlastingly chattering with itself or about something.’
