SKA-DFS

Sri Sanjay Lohia ji Secretary (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Govt. Of India, New Delhi

Dt. 28.6.2026

Dear Sir,

I wish to draw your kind attention to our letter SKA-CO-10 /25-26, Dated 9.6.2026, sent through email, addressed to the CEO & MD, LIC of India with a copy endorsed to you, for an amicable settlement of the issue of LIC pensioners' long pending Pension Updation, Out of Court. We are quite sure, our request must be under active consideration of LIC and the Government both.

Now a God / Supreme Court sent Opportunity is before us to settle the issue amicably through the Lok Adalat. The Supreme Court itself feels that the settlement of Our Issue of Pension Updation, can be settled through mutual understanding, and has therefore recommended our matter to Special Lok Adalat for settlement. The Notices have been issued by the Lok Adalat Office, to all the petitioners and the respondents (DFS & LIC) to give their consent for attending the Lok Adalat. Let me inform you that all the petitioners involved in the Supreme Court Civil Appeal, have already submitted their consent to participate in the Lok Adalat

proceedings. We are sure the Govt. and the LIC will also cooperate and participate in the Lok Adalat proceedings.

Sir, through the above referred letter, we have made our intentions very clear, that we want a negotiated amicable solution of the long pending contagious problem of Pension Updation, Out of Court, though our civil Appeal is pending before the Supreme Court for adjudication.

I am sure, you will also not appreciate a situation in LIC where a Retired Executive Director gets less pension than a Record Clerk (the lowest stage cadre), retiring now.

We, therefore request you to kindly take personal initiative and initiate required necessary steps, to resolve this decade old problem. The Pensioners fraternity shall always remain indebted & grateful to you for your humanitarian Act of benevolence.

I will request you to kindly allow us to meet you at your Office any day suitable for you , but before the Lok Adalat proceedings starts in August 26 ,to make our stand clear to you on the matter.

Looking for a positive response. With regards.

Yours faithfully S. K. Awasthi General Secretary Contact No. 7007886404 / 9451663802
