The Life Insurance Corporation of India paid a dividend of ₹12,207.25 crore to the govt for the financial year 2025–26. For the previous financial year, LIC paid a total dividend of ₹7,324.34 crore to the Govt. LIC has also declared that it had ₹59.03 lakh crore in assets as on 31 March 2026. No other listed public sector enterprise or bank has paid a dividend as high as LIC’s ₹12,207.25 crore for the financial year 2025–26. The associates of LIC—field force, staff and policyholders—deserve huge applause on this occasion, without whose wholehearted contribution this kind of milestone achievement would not have been possible. Not merely receiving the dividends, the govt should also try to propagate the importance of public sector LIC among the youth and the new generation. If functional autonomy to LIC, without further disinvestment, is given, it will further excel in the competitive market.
CONGRATULATIONS TO LIC ON ITS PURPOSEFUL EXISTENCE OF 70 YEARS IN THE SERVICE OF THE PEOPLE AND THE NATION.
