A detailed description of the entire process for submitting a paperless life certificate (Jeevan Saakhshya) through the LIC Digital App:
1. Prerequisites
Required Documents and Items:
A copy of your Aadhaar card.
Mobile number registered in your Aadhaar and LIC Pension records. (Even if the two numbers are different, they must be active.)
App Setup:
Uninstall the old LIC Digital app from your mobile and re-download the latest version from the Play Store/App Store.
Go to your phone settings and grant the app Camera and Location permissions.
Happy Time: This service is available 24 hours a day, but it is recommended to complete the process before 9 AM, during lunch, or after 8 PM to reduce server traffic.
Pensioners living abroad (NRIs): Those who are abroad during August will need to contact an LIC officer at the Pension Disbursement Office via video call.
2. One-Time Registration
Open the LIC Digital app on your phone.
Click the "Jeevan Saakhshya" link at the bottom right.
Click on New User Registration \rightarrow Select Skip \rightarrow Scroll down to the Terms & Conditions and click Accept.
Enter the mobile number registered in your pension record, verify it by entering the OTP received.
Set a 4-digit MPIN of your choice and click Submit.
3. Step-by-Step Submission
Login: Open the Jeevan Saakhshya section by entering the MPIN. Your Pension ID will automatically appear on the screen.
Select ID: Click Generate Certificate, tick the box for your Pension ID, and press Proceed. (If you are a Family Pensioner, select the applicable declaration).
DigiLocker Process:
Select the DigiLocker workflow and press Next.
Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then click Continue.
Enter your 6-digit DigiLocker PIN and press Continue. (If you forget your PIN, you can reset it by entering your date of birth under 'Forgot MPIN').
(Note): If the mobile numbers registered with LIC and Aadhaar are different, enter the LIC registered number here, enter the OTP, and press Continue.
Under Documents issued under DigiLocker Consent, click Aadhaar and press Allow.
Verify details: Verify your Aadhaar details displayed on the screen and press YES. (If the details don't load due to a server error, repeat this step.)
Selfie/Face Verification:
Go to "Proceed to take Selfie" \rightarrow Click.
Position your face in the camera frame and take a clear photo.
Download Certificate:
A "Success" message will appear if the face, name, and date of birth are successfully matched.
Go to the Main Page, click on "View Certificate," and then download your receipt/certificate from "Download Certificate."
