SZ PENDING MATTERS RESUME & MARCH FORWARD inspite of vicissitudes

Dear SZ pensioner friends,

1)40 % IR as per SC order dt 31/3/2016 ,in typical LIC own way interpretation, following same erroneous method adopted to pay to Petitioners while responding to SC Interim Order of 7/5/2015,amount was credited to our SB Ac

2)Calculation sheet as per CO instructions & following CO IT module, took time & we have started receiving. This is the info I gathered from SZO.
Some are able to understand, some have doubts in general & yet others point out specific lacuna.U may please inform us of specific lacuna ,as general error of method of LIC ,we have pointed out in our GS,AIRIEF letter to ED Per & we will take it up, as U know we have plethora of correct calculationsfor all cadres ,as per Rule 3A ordered by SC Bench

3)Form 16 for IT purposes is ready & some have already received.I understand that SZO was chosen for testcheck for Form 16 Module & that has been certified by CO for uniform implementation all over LIC

4)I am told that Divisions have started sending calculations about post-8/2012 Retirees on pension & commuted value arrears.CO is particular ,it seems, that this must fit in Pension Module introduced only last year & that should be fully complied with.I gather from ZOOS that while they have kept manual calculations ready as numbers are not many, 36 at ZO & about 40/50 at DO level, ZO has asked CO to quickly send that link needed to go with full speed calculations & there should not be any difficulty in processing thereafter.I am watching & I sahll do the needful to expedite ,within my limitations ! .

4)Coming to mediclaim premium deductions,as no uniform practice was there in the facility offerred amongst SZ Divisions, even though at that time, CO was never willling to concede our plain & pertinent demand of allowing 12 monthly deductions to ensure ALL pensioners who have availed of mediclaim benefits do not go out of the Scheme, losing cover of risk, so vital in todays world of diseases & illnesses.Atlast that concession on same lines as for employees was conceded by CO with instructions to deduct 12 Mly from Feb 2016.Varying practices & different conventions upset some divisions, when they did not take care of when next deduction falls due ,to fall in same pattern sooner than later.
The only guiding principle was to fulfil ALL 12 Mly deductions shd be over with Feb 2017 deductions as last instalment to fall before FY ends ie before 31/3/2017 ,as Feb 2017 deduction is over by 1st March 2017
This cutoffdate must have been followed ruthlessly to signify smooth transition from old practices to strict 12 Mly deductions.
i)Now I learn decision is taken by SZOS dept that where deductions are done in old method, total deductions so far, including this mistaken wrong deduction, must be taken into account correctly & such Divisions must start last lap of Regular Mly Deductions to complete with LAST Feb 2017 Deduction .So if earlier one deduction represented 3 Mly premiums, now another one indicating yet another 3 Mly premiums, BALANCE left is 6 & so, Mly regular deductions from Pension will be Sep2016 to Feb 2017 ie 6 to make in all 12
ii)For ZO pensioners,as 1 instalment ,here representing 4 Mly deductions was over Feb 2016 to May 2016, remaining 8 instalments will commence regularly from July 2016 to Feb 2017 inclusive, in all 12 Mly premiums
iii)I request & sincerely appeal to President,Sy,JS & other OBs to meet SDM & Manager OS immediately ,ascertain correct position, be doubly satisfied that in all 12 instalments are done for mediclaim premium

iv)Please also request DOs to inform the deductions made & to be made & let Pensioners NOTE DOWN in thier File & Records carefully as verification at a LATER date becomes difficult, more so as we advance in age.Let us not lose our spirits of buoyancy under any circumstances. For IT purposes under 80 D,mediclaim benefit, this is also essential

v)I call upon our active AIOS Sri Angurajan to pursue this matter with entire SZ Tamil Nadu & Kerala Divns & Pudicherry, as it is vital for pensioners & hereafter atleast matter should become pucca,
vi)When this email reaches AIRIEF SZ OBs.let them go to meet SDM/Mgr OS & write to me & AIOS Sri B.Angurajan, without fail.Let this be a job well done, as a labour of love & sacrifice for the general wellbeing of all pensioners in SZ

Greetings,

R.B.KISHORE
VP,AIRIEF
