All the regular recipients of our Association's e-mails,

Friends,

A shocking news for Bank Employees retired prior to 1st November,2002

The Bank Employees retired prior to 1st November, 2002 are getting tapering rates of dearness relief thereby the total pension paid to them is lesser than what the employees retired after 1st November, 2002 are getting.

Retired Employees of (i) Bank of Baroda (ii) Canara Bank and (iii) Indian Overseas Bank had won the legal battle on this issue before a single judge in Madras High Court. The Banks had succeeded to get the judgment reversed in the Division Bench. Therefore, the Retirees had appealed in the Supreme Court. When the matter came up for hearing to-day, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Madras Division Bench and dismissed the appeal of the retired employees.

The news are confirmed to us by a Senior Office Bearer of All India Bank of Baroda Retied Officers' Association and hence we are circulating the same.

Yours sincerely,
B.G.Raithatha,
General Secretary
