Dear Editor,
This is with reference to Mr.B.R.Mehta's comments on my reaction to Mr. Yogendra Singh's post under title 'The last battle'.
Mr. Mehtaji should know that Mr. GNS was never against up-gradation as such. A lot of discussion took place between him and Mr. Asthanaji about this. Mr. GNS was only against clubbing of the two issues in the same writ petition. Mr. GNS has been a practicing lawyer upto even now at his age, and though he knew the legal justification for up-gradation, strategy demanded that the issue of Up-Gradation could be taken separately once D.R.Issue was resolved, clubbing would delay both. History has proved him right. It is false propaganda that GNS was against up-gradation.Mr. Mehta will know the truth about this if he makes an unbiased enquiry with the people involved at the time of first writ petition in 1997.
Mr. Mehtaji, for heaven's sake please do not make this a conflict between pre and post 1997 retirees by talking of percentages. No old pensioner will regret if 75% of the people plus themselves get up-gradation nor will the 75% pensioners he is talking about will wish the 25% Octogenarians pass away without at least getting what they have been deprived of unjustly.
Thank you,
Yours truly,
G.Krishna Prasad.
