100% neutralisation in D A
As you are aware, on the 16th May 2018, the Supreme Court had given an adverse verdict in favour of the United Bank of India retirees (UNITED, for short), which will have serious deleterious effects on the universe of pensioners, including SBI Pensioners, if appropriate steps are not taken to contest the judgment by filing a review by engaging a senior counsel for the purpose. There is no point in several units filing individual review petitions. It would be desirable that instead of spending money by engaging several advocates, if all the retirees of the PSBs unite together and back the UNITED by providing necessary financial support, the battle can be won by engaging a renowned counsel who is respected and held in awe among the judges in the Supreme Court.
You are also well aware that in the recent past several SBI Pensioners' associations had collected donations from the members. I am sure you will agree with me that the various associations and the Federation have moral responsibility to espouse the cause of its members. I, therefore, urge upon you not only to request the various associations to lend financial support to the UNITED but also send requests to various associations of PSBs to show solidarity in the interest of the universe of Pensioners of all the Banks. After all, what is the purpose of collecting funds if the funds are not used in the need of the hour.
I attach a copy of a letter addressed to Sri.S.C.Jain together with a copyof the attachment as stated therein
I request your urgent action in this regard,
Yours sincerely,
P.P.R.Upadhyaya
Regards, E.R.Iyer
