REVISION OF PENSION AND DA

Dear Mr Murty,
The case of gratuity payment was slightly different from that of M C Jain. Mr M C Jain belonged to the category of Class I Officers retired between 1/8/1992 and 31/3/1993, whereas the retired officers who got gratuity arrears as a result of Supreme Court judgment were those retired between 1/8/1992 and 31/7/1994.IN case of Mr M C Jain the Jaipur Bench has ordered wage revision from 1/8/1992  and corresponding revision in pension. In the gratuity case, the SC had ordered calculation of gratuity based on notional fixation of revised salaries from 1/8/1992.Although there are retired officers falling  under both the categories, the M C Jain category retired officers are entitled to get actual revised basic salary and revised basic pension in addition to the benefits of increased gratuity.
The 320 similarly placed retirees can get justice only by fighting the case in SC or if an order is passed by Kerala HC directing LIC  to pay to all similarly placed pensioners.
