Friends, we have lost another very loyal member of the community of Retired Officers in Sri Aiyappan Pillai, of Ernakulam Association, who passed away, after a painful fight with Cancer , on the 8th of Dec .

He was a tremendously committed person with very high humane qualities. Sri G N Sridharan our senior leader of the Federation for long years, and a very close friend of Sri Pillai, has very eloquently conveyed his personal feelings on getting this news. I thought it is worth sharing with all of you.

Condolence Message from Shri G.N.Sridharan, Former General Secretary

I am shocked to have the news of demise this morning of our beloved friend Shri Ayyappan Pillai. Though he was ailing for quite sometime  I had always hoped he will turn the corner but God's will seems to have been otherwise.

Shri Ayyappan's contribution to the cause of retired LIC officers was immense. He was instrumental in organising officers in Ernakulam and later had a big role to play in the formation of our unit at Thrissur. On a personal level I cannot forget the exemplary hospitality extended by him whenever I visited Ernakulam/Thrissur during the past one decade. He will always be there to meet me at the airport and would not allow me to reach the guest house without having tea at his residence enroute. He was my friend philosopher and guide in all the activities of our federation during my tenure as general .secretary.

I find no words to describe my sorrow on his demise. I pray that his wife, a gracious lady, and other members of his family the strength to bear this loss.
May Lord Guruvayurappa rest his soul in peace.
- GN Sridharan
