Shri Anand Tyagi ji was planning a meeting with FM/Authorities of Finance Ministry. He approached Shri Ajit Seth, Ex Cabinet Secretary (who has high regards to Shri Tyagi Ji) for fixing the meeting on the issues of LIC Pensioners. Shri Ajit Seth, talked to Shri Rajiv Kumar, Secretary (Finance), who happily agreed for the meeting. When Shri Tyagi ji talked to Shri Rajiv Kumar ji, he informed that he is retiring in Feb 2020 so it will be better if Shri Debashish Panda, presently Addl Secy DFS, who is to take over as Secretary (Finance), also joins. Today's meeting, thus was arranged with the outgoing and incoming Financial secretaries. But, because of some important meeting with the FM, both the Secretaries were occupied there and hence Shri Panda advised Shri Tyagi ji to have a meeting with the Addl Secy (DFS) Ms. Dakshita Das, whom necessary in puts were already given for the meeting.
On 5/2/2020, when we were at Delhi to attend our court cases, we (Shri Tyagi ji and myself) met Shri D Krishnan Sahab, after court proceedings and shared our plan with him. Krishnan Sahab happily agreed for the meeting. Shri Tyagi ji informed that he would take a date for the meeting prefixing or suffixing the date of hearing of our cases in SC. Accordingly, he got the meeting fixed at 4 pm on 19/2/2020. Shri Tyagi ji arranged the meeting in a well planed professional manner using his good offices. This made the incumbent authorities to be receptive and empathetic to our issues. This meeting would go long way in resolution of our various grievances. We can expect favourable and expeditious clearance of the issues referred by LIC to the Finance Ministry. Our delegation could very well explain unique features of our pension scheme and resolution of grievances on the lines of CCS Pension Rules. Gist of meeting has already been communicated by Shri Sarkar and Shri D Krishnan.
LIC Pensioners delegation consisting of Shri Tyagi, Shri D Krishnan, Shri Arunachalam, Shri Vijay Singh Sikarwar, Shri Ranajn Dey Sarkar and Shri D D Gupta deserves all appreciation and admiration for a nice presentation of our issues to the authorities of Department of Financial Services. Shri Tyagi played a wonderful role as an effective instrumentality in arranging this meeting.
M P Agnihotri.
