Dear Mr. Sahni,
Greetings, and I do hope you are keeping well.
This is Shantaram, Mr. P. Ramanathan's son.
I know that you have been of great support to my father, in helping him navigate medical insurance claims for treatment of his lung cancer. As you may remember, he was being treated at the Cancer Institute (WIA), Chennai and had completed his course of radiation therapy on January 4, 2020.
Subsequently, during a review on January 13, 2020, he was found to be having some dyspnoea and was admitted at the Cancer Institute (WIA) on January 14, 2020 with a possibility of Radiation Pneumonitis. He was also on oxygen support and was improving gradually, until a setback on February 3, 2020 when he had an exacerbation of dyspnoea, possibly due to some aspiration. He then needed NIV support for 4 days.
The Cancer Institute (WIA) then told us that he needed to be under a pulmonologist's care, which they are unable to provide. We have therefore moved him to the Apollo Speciality Hospital, Cenotaph Road, Teynampet, Chennai 600018 (ASH). This move was made this afternoon and I have begun the process of requesting for cashless treatment since ASH is a network hospital.
This mail is to keep you informed about dad's status. Once again, appreciate your support!
Regards,
Shantaram
