Mediclaim option fiasco
1) On 8-3-2022 ED (Personnel) issued a circular a) Enhancing SI (sum insured) to 75 L, b) Allowing option to increase the SI up to max 75 L and c) Allowing independent children to be included.
2) On 13-3-2022 NOIP sent a letter to ED (Personnel) covering 9 points and putting furtherdemands
3) On 13-3-2022, NOIP sent another mail to the ED(Personnel) asking some clarification.4) On 14-3-2022, Secretary (OS), CO sent email to all ZMs giving e-feap details and also allowing family pensioners to add independent children (this was one of the demands in our letter of
13-3-2022 to EDP)
5) After talking to 4-5 Divisions we got confirmation of 4 above. Hence we issued the messageon 16-3-2022 claiming the victory for 4 above and advised our Divisional units to contact our family pensioner members for adding independent children by the latter.
6) On 17-3-2022, ED (Personnel) issued a clarification letter saying, a) Family pensioners arenot permitted to add independent children, b) Independent Children continue to be covered till age 45 last birthday or till pensioner/family pensioner is alive, whichever is earlier. Means to say independent children will go out of coverage once they reach 45 age LBD; or before that if pensioner and family pensioner both die, even though the age of independent children is less than 45 yrs. C) Extended the last date to 31-3-2022 (NOIP had demanded extension up to 25-4-2022).
7) In view of the above facts/controversies our Divisional Secretaries are requested to contacttheir respective OS dept of Divisional office for the latest update regarding allowing family pensioners to add independent children; and act accordingly.
8) This clarification is issued by us due to contradictory instructions issued by 2 departments of CO.
