A McDonald’s outlet in Pune reportedly denied a drink to a destitute child even though it was being paid for.
The incident has sparked outrage against the fast-food retail giant on
social media after the woman who accompanied the child inside the
restaurant posted about it online.
The woman had gone to McDonalds along with some of her friends when she
saw the child outside the outlet and decided to buy him a soft drink.
She took the child inside and stood with him in line to buy the drink.
In her post, the woman says an employee at the outlet came and pushed
out the child, allegedly saying “such people are not allowed in the
restaurant.”
Later, the woman purchased a drink and gave it to the child. She
uploaded a picture of the child and the bill item on her Facebook
account.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s India has been quoted as stating that it would
probe whether any of their employees “had breached basic courtesy” and
would take appropriate action in the case.
