What happened today in Court No 6, is so unusual. The first two items - Judgements - were pronounced in less than three minutes. The next two miscellaneous matters, (part-heard for several,weeks in the previous weeks) were expected to conclude in 10 - 15 minutes. All our folks. Pensioners representatives and their Counsel, LIC counsel, an army of them, were getting ready. The latter to press,for adjournment and the former, to oppose the same vehemently,
But alas, the the first case did conclude in 45 minutes and the second one, an Election disqualification matter, argued by Mr Harish Salve, went on endlessly and concluded just before1.00 PM and Order was dictated. It was time for the court to rise. All counsel in our matters virtually stormed to the front of the and caught the attention of Justice Misra. His Lordship was told about our being listed at Sl No 101 (first case) and having been taken up. He said 'tomorrow'. Promptly reminded that tomorrow is a miscellaneous day (not final hearing). At that point LIC counsel raised his request for adjournment. Without responding anyone particular advocate's plea specifically, Justice Misra said 'first week of February', Then the item No 1 request was made - his response was -'I Know, I know, I remember'. And the Bench withdrew. I was inside the court throughout, so didn't miss any part of what happened.
The whole crowd trooped out. Anxious Clients surrounding their respective Counsel. Mr Jay Savla's version is - our matters continue to appear in the list. Will be called on 28th Jan but will be adjourned to 4th Feb. Hopefully, the long long wait ends in that hearing and we are going to
