C-DOT (Centre for Development of Telematics) to celebrate Foundation Day

Rededicates itself to make PM Modi’s dream of Digital India a reality

Commemorates 31 years of excellence in telecom R&D activities & contribution in Nation building

Having gained worldwide recognition for its outstanding works in the arenas of telecommunication and converged networks, Centre for Development of Telecommunications, popularly known as C-DOT, is organizing its Foundation day on 25^th August, 2015. Shri Vipin Tyagi, Executive Director, C-DOT reaffirmed that C-DOT is working with a missionary zeal towards making PM Narendra Modi’s dream of Digital India a reality by bridging the digital divide between rural and urban India. Thereby paving the way for “Digital Empowerment” and rejuvenate the Indigenous Telecom R&D and Manufacturing Eco-system. A pioneer telecom technology R&D centre of the Government of India, C-DOT has a diverse product portfolio including Switching and Routing, Optical, Wireless, Security and other telecom software applications..

The event will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Kumar Yadav, Member- Services & Technology, Telecom Commission at C-DOT’s Mehrauli Campus in New Delhi. The inaugural session will be followed by the keynote address by Dr. Boyd McGregor Murray, an eminent Wireless Technologies Expert from Australia and the Foundation Day lecture by Founding Executive Director Shri G. B. Meemamsi, a Padma awardee.   

Keeping the tradition of holding technical seminar on the occasion, C-DOT is organizing a seminar cum workshop on “Exploring the new horizons of the Wireless, M2M and IoT Firmament”on 26^th August, 2015 in which experts from the field experts will be sharing their innovative ideas and novel concepts.

An exhibition has also been planned  in the sidelines to  showcase C-DOT’s indigenously designed technologies with their live demonstration.

The event also includes a series of technical sessions touching upon the myriad dimensions of Wireless technologies, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) and IoT (Internet of Things) applications. Prof. Anurag Kumar, Director, IISc, Bangalore will deliver a talk on “Zigbee Multihop Wireless Networks for IoT Applications”. Dr. Boyd Murray will present a brief overview of MIMO technologies followed by a workshop on MIMO Devices and Sensor Networks. There will also be a session on the key concepts and network architecture of future wireless technologies by Dr. Pankaj Dalela, Telecom Network Planning Expert and Group Leader, C-DOT.
