Dear friends,
1)I am keeping in touch
with Chief Per on important matters. I also alternate with EDP Sri Niraj
Agarwal too ,when things are delayed.
2)So, today, I
spoke to Chief P ,that quick & serious efforts have to be done at CO level
,calling TPAs who have not issued ECards yet,as already considerable delay has
taken place.I stressed that it is the overall responsibility of CO to
ensure that, after a Circular is issued conferring benefit ,with some
provisos & requirements, there is a dire need to followup with concerned
Authorities or Agencies so that they fall in line & prove by their actions
that the concept becomes a reality
I reminded him
pathetically,if Cashless facility is to be availed by employees/pensioners, ALL
what is stated in CO Circular & TPA Website must be translated to
action by TPA & to pin responsibility only on employees/pensioners is
wrong. So,I pleaded with him to call TPA Managers/Officials to office ,talk face
to face the issues & ensure they give assurance of a deadline as already
there is inordinate delay
I pointed out that when
SZ TPA Vidal Health has issued laminated ECards ,a nice booklet, procedures for
cashless, names of all officials,ZO,DOwise for LIC SZO last month itself, it
appears none of the other ZO/DOs could get cooperation ,which when they rise to
the occasion, perform what they are supposed to help insured in group mediclaim
& not to only insist on action from insured side alone, then only real, true
operationalisation can take place
He promised to initiate
immediate steps to fulfil the lacuna & bring TPAs closer to LIC
3)I also fup Pensioners
Portal, which though 3 years have passed after our 4 page valuable
suggestions, external agency is on the job, but how long, when all other class of
employees, agents have portal,I emphasised that the agency must be pulled
up & we pensioners should not be made to feel that pensioners come last in
fulfilment of issues or demands made by them
4)So too,I fup what I
told him, after he took charge that this regime must be pleased to fulfil
long-felt need of pensioners that all LIC Offices must start deducting
mediclaim premium in 4 instalments, to give leeway for some Net pension to
carry out domestic chores & notably, pensioners should not go out of the
good scheme just for nonpayment of premium for some exigencies.Risk protection
& continuance is a must.Employees premium deduction takes place every
month,I recalled.
I made it crystal clear
that he has to ensure final decision soon, as 4 deductions must commence wef
Nov --Feb pension, so that OS/Accts can be happy all will be over by 1st
March, before yearend. I requested CO must give adequate time to ZO/DOs to
communicate to pensioners & complete the action for which Quick CO decision
is a prerequisite
5)Email of Sri Subir
Kumar Majumdar on Existence Certificate & Sri PRamanathans comments forced
me to talk to Chief. I told him when LIC could be the frontrunner in many
disciplines & pathbreaking IT initiatives, which made Private insce cos also
bemoan as they could not overtake LIC,& as even Hon PM initiative of a
Digital certificate under his Jeevan Pramaan scheme coordinated by
National Informatics Centre, so too LIC must soon pitch upon & introduce
online verification procedure with whatever checks they want, so that
pensioners need not experience any hassles, a yearly ritual .Even if it is from
next year, I urged Chief to commence dialogue after a blueprint is ready in
place.
Greetings,
R B KISHORE,
VP,AIRIEF
